I have a long personal history with Governor Bond Lake.  It is a great recreational lake and great fishing lake in central Illinois, more specifically, located a little north of the city of Greenville in Bond County.  You can swim, ski, jetski, ride your waverunner, fish or just relax and cruise around on your pontoon boat.  I am excited to provide this information and share some great pictures with you!!  My husband Bruce and I have lived on the lake for over 24 years. We both have lived  in Greenville  since  we  were  born.   Bruce  was  the  Water  Plant Superintendant for the City of Greenville and Governor Bond Lake is the water supply for the city and surrounding communities.  He was the Superintendant  for 15 years and still works in the water process industry today.  Also, my father Ward Borror developed a small subdivision on the lake, Villa Vista.  So I have been privileged  to see the whole birth and development of the lake over the last 36 years from a real close-up and personal point of view.

I created this website as a sort of fun thing, to share some of the spectacular things that I get to see from the back of my house, out of my living room windows.   I am blessed with the beauty of having the lake in my back yard!  I walk through my living room dozens of times a day and my head turns almost automatically to see what's happening out there on the lake, (thus came the name of my first link, "Here's What's Happening!!!").   All I have to do is step out on my deck to take most of the pictures you see here on my website.   I also use my website to promote my career as a Realtor.  My link "Barb's Lake Listings" provides you with information about available lake property.  I deal with all other types of property in Bond County, also.  If you need the services of a Realtor in either buying or selling any type of property in the Bond County area, please call, or email me.  I will be happy to help you achieve your goals and dreams in buying or selling real estate.

Click above on "Explore My Website" to get started.  That will take you to my website links page.  "Here's What's Happening!"  is the link that I update with info, pictures, lake level and temperature on a weekly basis during recreation season, a little less frequently during the winter months.   The rest of the links are pretty much self-explanatory.  I also have plans to create a link  "History of the Lake", chronicaling the birth and beginning  of the lake.  This will be coming later, as I will have to research archives at the library and The Advocate, and try to find pictures of the lake before it filled.
